With new momentum sourced from the Midtown Transportation Plan and Blueprint 3.0, Midtown Alliance is delivering more projects and initiatives in 2017 that put those ambitious plans into action and positively impact your urban experience. What can you look forward to seeing in the year ahead? Here are just a few items on our workplan:

$10M in District Improvement Projects

Arches go up on Peachtree Bridge N

Transportation Network

Our team is advancing several new projects with the City of Atlanta and the Georgia Department of Transportation to create a more vibrant, safer, more connected network.

Expanded Support for a Cleaner and Safer Midtown

We’re starting up expanded service on weekends for trash removal and patrolling as Midtown Atlanta continues to take on more of the characteristics of a 7-day city.

New Signature Parks and Open Spaces

Midtown Alliance is developing design and engineering specs for a new Art Walk that will create a new signature corridor running north-south through the heart of the district, featuring art installations and a distinct promenade feel.

New Strategies to Update Zoning Regulations

We’re working with the City of Atlanta to keep raising the bar on the quality and design of new development, including proposing new zoning changes that speak to the way people interact with buildings at street level.

Pilot Mobile App Project for Midtown Alliance Members

To bring our membership even closer to Midtown’s vibrant street-level energy, we’re piloting a new project that accentuates the walkability of the district and the thrill of discovering new experiences. The affinity plastic card that represents our member deals and discounts program is getting a big upgrade, with a location-based smartphone app that finds unique dining, shopping, nightlife and other experiences in the heart of it all.

New Public Art to Grace the Corner of 10th and Peachtree

A rolling stone gathers no moss. The famed Rockspinner will be leaving Midtown this spring, after a long visit that has delighted many people in our community. Midtown Alliance’s lease for the 22,000 lb. kinetic art fixture is set to expire soon, and we’re busy searching for a new installation that may arrive by summertime. Watch this cheeky tribute to the stoic granite boulder, and keep an eye out for updates on our search for its successor.
